Elomaz Foundation donated relief materials to flood victims in Odoro Primary School, Isoko South Local Government Area and Alaka Grammar School, Isoko North Local Government Area, both of Delta State. Items presented by the foundation, which is owned by Hon. Joel Onowakpo-Thomas, Chairman, Elomaz Foundation, to the internally Displaced Person (IDPs) includes Wrappers, Cartons of Bread, Cartons of biscuits, Dettol, soaps, pampers, Sanitary Pads, Tissue Papers, Baby Wipes, Tea, Rice and Groundnut Oil.
While addressing journalists, the Director General of the Foundation, Chief Mrs. Odogwu Veronica, called on government to setup intervention of what the vulnerable group of persons will fall back to as the flood was gradually receding “because the flood victims have lost all their means of livelihood and are in critical need of survival.
She said: “We are here to see the flood victims, to see the little we can do to put smiles on their faces. That is why we are here and we have been to Odoro, we are here in Alaka Grammar School and we find out that there are so much people still in Alaka. But in Odoro, they are almost gone.
According to her, “Our main aim, as a Foundation is to wipe away tears from the less privileged like we normally do every December, the widows and the aged always come around and we give them Christmas packs, including the three Orphanages in Isoko nation. And we are looking forward to doing that soon.
Responding on behalf of the IDPs at Odoro Primary School, Oleh, the Women Leader of Oleh Community Development Union (OCDU), Mrs. Juliana Itewo lauded the Chairman of Elomaz Foundation, Hon. Joel –Onowakpo Thomas for his kind gesture in ameliorating the sufferings of the IDPs.
She prayed God to bless the donor and grant him his heart desire.
